International bestseller
A hilarious tale for younger listeners.
Once upon a time, a young witch called Lucy lived on a floating elephant-shaped island called Hocus Pocus. Hocus Pocus is the most magical place to live in the entire world. That is until it's invaded by a mysterious (and very stinky!) pong. Nobody knows what to do, so it's up to young witch Lucy and her best friend Joe to find out who or what is responsible...
"Wizzles–witches and wizards on floating Hocus Pocus Island–think farts (sweet smelling 'wizzlepops') are the funniest things until the island is overcome by a strange, powerful, stinky 'pong'. Young witch Lucy, best friend Joe, and others, including a gentle giant, try to find the cause of this stinky pong. Fahey reads with an Australian accent, and although her accent may be unfamiliar to some youngsters, her slow, clear reading makes the humorous story easy to follow. The cast of characters is rather large, and Fahey alters her tones and inflections slightly, consistently maintaining individual personalities. Whimsical orchestral music plays at the beginning and end of the recording, and in keeping with the flatulent subject matter, music and chapter titles are punctuated with fart sounds. Kids will love it!"
Booklist
"Join in the fun of flatulence, where the sound effects will keep you smiling. Follow Lucy and Joe as they try to solve the mystery of the stinky pong and no, Joe is not responsible for doing this one. Fahey does an excellent job playing several roles including a one-eyed troll and all the wizzle-pop sounds. This book is a great choice to help introduce your child to an audiobook. Who doesn’t enjoy a topic that is usually deemed inappropriate? A very gassy book full of fifth grade humor, the wizzle-pops continue in her next book Hocus Pocus and the Giant Fairy, Gog." - Alyson Grossman
